Hi friends! Welcome back to another episode of Secret Mom Hacks. It's mid-September and pumpkins are already popping up everywhere and the holiday aisles at the stores are bustling.

Maybe I'm a few weeks late for this topic...but better late than never. Let's talk about how we can smoothly transition from the lazy days of summer to the more structured routines of fall.

I stumbled upon some fantastic tips from Ashlee over at FargoMom.com and had to share them with you. [Listen to the episode in full HERE!]

First up, start early. Establish a school year routine by gradually adjusting bedtime and wake-up times a few weeks before school starts. It's all about easing into the routine without the shock of suddenly having to wake up early.

Next, set clear expectations. Sit down with your family and discuss the school schedule, extracurriculars, homework, and chores. Communication is key to reducing anxiety and making the transition smoother.

Don't forget about organization. Create a family calendar to manage everyone's activities, appointments, and important dates. Our family loves using Google Calendar because it's easy to access and update across devices. Trust me, it's a game-changer!

And let's not overlook self-care. Encourage healthy habits like exercise, balanced diets, and getting enough sleep. Staying active as a family is a great way to bond and stay energized.

To help children stay focused during the school year, create a dedicated homework and study space. Make sure it's quiet, well-lit, and free from distractions.

Remember, you don't have to do everything on your own. Delegate tasks and share responsibilities with your partner and kids.

In today's episode I also shared two reviews I recently received. April said listening to Secret Mom Hacks got her interested in podcasts for the first time, and Angie expressed gratitude for the "much-needed content" to help others learn the not-so-hard way. Your support means the world to me!
